Cottage Studio Progress - A Sneak Peek

H ubs and I have almost gotten the studio to the point where all that is left is lots and lots and lots of painting. Almost. We still have to add trim around the giant sliding french doors on the east and west side of the studio {we're waiting a couple of weeks for that to accommodate our budget!} and we also need to add a little trim to the sides of this.... Can you tell what it is?

It's a huge work table hubs made for me. Do you recognize the top? You may have to turn your monitor upside down to see it, but it's the french door that once hung between the studio and kitchen. I wanted this work table to be a little taller than normal so that I could work standing or seated on a stool if I wanted to. This will be a great table for packaging as well. The bottom part is a I'm very anxious to see what this old monster will look like when complete! little crude, but all of that will be covered with a pleated skirt. There will be a long shelf underneath for additional storage - something in which I could never have too much! The top will have a layer of plexi-glass for a smooth surface. This is the second table hubs has built for my studio, the first being a standard height cute-as-a-button farm table.

Oh, and then there is still this to trim out and paint. It's STILL not complete, but I've had hubs very busy adding beadboard and window trim and other architectural details to the studio. I'm very anxious, though, to see what this old monster will look like when complete! We've added the beadboard to the sides, more shelving, and a primer coat so far. {primer coat not photographed}

I'm giving myself until the end of 2009 to finish this studio. That's about 8 weeks. Is it possible? We're sure going to give it our best shot!

Thanks to everyone who has left such lovely comments on some of our past projects lately revisiting/reposted during my blogging break. I will keep posting them as we continue to focus on finishing up the studio. I apologize for being so behind on my emails and questions - I'm looking forward to slowing down and catching up!
