New at Twice Remembered: An Inspiration File - Where Sweet Little Cottage Dreams Take Flight

Good morning, sweet peas! I'm sitting here with a cup of coffee in one hand and typing with the other with Sunny the Cockatiel perched on my shoulder and Ginger the Cockatiel perched on my monitor - both vying for my attention. Oh, such is the "hectic" pace of a lazy Saturday morning!

I've added a new feature to Twice Remembered that I wanted to share with you. Now that I know a definite style direction that I want to take with our home {European/French/Swedish Country}, I've begun to collect gorgeous photos to inspire me and keep me track. I have so many on file on my computer, but I thought it would be fun to post them online as well. This new inspiration page is called "Twice Remembered's Inspiration: Where Sweet Little Cottage Dreams Take Flight". You'll see that I simply post a photo, a caption, and the source. At the bottom of each page are search tags for all the photos in the file, so if you would like to see pictures of say...plank ceilings, just find "plank ceilings" in the tag list.

Now for a little technical chatter: Many of the photos are also posted on the Twice Remembered Facebook page for discussion, but if you don't use Facebook, the photos automatically go to Twitter as well - or you can just leave comments below the photos on the Inspiration page itself if you find something that is especially inspiring {or maybe not so much!} to you. I won't post here when I update my inspiration file, but there is a link on the page for you to subscribe to it's feed so that you don't miss any photos. Or you can always just click on the cottage image under the heading "inspiration file" over there at the top of the sidebar to go to the page and see what I've posted recently.

I hope you enjoy my inspiration file as much as I am enjoying finding photos for it! It's so nice to have a place to organize these dreamy photos that I'm collecting - and to be able to share them with you!

Well, I suppose it's time to put Sunny and Ginger back in their "room" {they don't like the word cage} and get back into the hardwood floor laying mode. We finished the bedroom we were working on yesterday and today we are going to work on our walk in closet in our bedroom and the linen closet in the hallway. After that, we'll just have one more bedroom to go and then we'll have put down wood floors in the entire house! What a job - but I'm thrilled with the results so far!

Have a great Saturday, everyone!

  10. When I started reading this blog I thought it was interesting to get to see something of american cottage decoration. But now I see you have taken a swedish turn in your style, and that for me is even more interesting because as a Swede myself it's fun to see how others interpret the swedish style.
