Just to show how far we've come with our dining area, this is what it looked like before our remodeling work began. You may be intersted in seeing some of the
demolition photos.

Let there be light!

We'll soon be taking down that white door to the laundry/pantry room. There is another door to the laundry room in the hallway that we can use. I know the table is off center with the ceiling fan, but the fan/light will be
replaced and moved to the center of the table after we put up our new plank ceiling.

I recently gave my farm table legs a little makeover. I painted them the same color that my walls are going to be, then aged and distressed them a bit more. Because we'll be adding white (or off-white) beadboard halfway up the walls in here, the legs won't blend in like they do now.

I bought this digital print on canvas last week. It has all the colors that I just adore...nice and cheerful, too! (And just $39!!!)

We have space in the kitchen to add pantry cabinets. See that wall space left of the black dishwasher?

A pantry cabinet would fit there perfectly, I think:) Thanks, mom, for the idea!

You so amaze and inspire me....your home is becoming so beautiful and you are so talented and have the character to make it all happen. Thanks for sharing; you give me confidence to try a few of my own projects.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dining room and kitchen :)
ReplyDeletebeautiful!
ReplyDeleteI think a pantry cabinet is a great idea. It's almost like that long run of cabinetry needs a tall piece to cap it off.
Not sure what your plans are but the future tall cabinet in the kitchen could house a hidden computer station. Great job on the dining window - it really needed the light.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I am amazed at the transformation in your dining room!!!!! Breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteThat is really a great idea!
ReplyDeleteAfter reading Ben's comment of a computer station and knowing that you were intending on using the cabinet for a pantry........ I was wondering if you might want/need a kitchen desk area. If so, and if the cabinet is shorter than your other cabinets AND if you had the room on that wall.....you might could fit a kitchen desk area in between them (and you wouldn't have to cover up the side of your beautiful cabinets!!!)
Your home is so charming and you both are so talented! Thank you for letting us peek in!
Many Blessings,
Julie
Thanks, everyone. You guys have lots of great ideas! *Originally* for that wall space I was going to take an old dresser that I have and have hubs build a hutch for it and use the surface of it as a desk area for laptop. I would like to have some kind of small area to pay bills, look up recipes, etc. There really is only about 4 feet that I could use for a pantry or desk because of an air conditioning vent in the floor and electrical outlet in about the same place on the wall. Perhaps some kind of desk / pantry cabinet combination?
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get the canvas print. I LOVE IT!!!
ReplyDeleteIt would look great in my bathroom I think. We have a big spcae that needs a picture and that one looks like it would be great. What do you think about that print in a bathroom? Am I crazy?
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL Kim! :)
ReplyDeleteExcellent work!
I got the print at Wal-mart and couldn't believe it! It was the only one there and I had no idea they carried canvas art to begin with! I was searching for small rug and turned around and it was there, lol! I snatched it right away...and for just $39!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bev!
Looking so good! Thanks for letting us "peek"!
