A Link Party and Blog Sale Info

I was just thinking... I really need to get rid of some of my stuff. I wanted to join Deborah at the Fairfield House back in August when she had her blogwide yard sale, but it corresponded to "back to school" time here and my plate ran over. I am faced now with an attic full of stuff and a strong desire to own one of those super-cool-neato-fabulous-groovy Cricut machines. I've admired them for quite a while, and if any of you have one or know anything about them, please let me know! I don't know what model, etc., to get but I would love to have one with all the bells and whistles.... because bells and whistles are so much fun! So I've decided to have a blog sale to go towards buying one of these curious contraptions. Makes perfect sense to me!

I will be going out of town this upcoming week to help my mom with her own yard sale {if you live in Smith County, Tn and have a

transitional style of decorating, you'll want to come! The sale starts on Thursday but I won't be there until Friday and will not be selling my own things.} She's simplifying and downsizing and only selling home decor and furniture. My mom is why I have such a love for home decor to begin with! I digress...

After I return, I will have my blog sale, but I wanted to give everyone a heads up. I'll let you know the exact day before I post my items. I'll pull out and photograph my items this week before my mom's sale so that all I'll have to do when I get back is post my listings. Sound like a plan?

While I'm up to my ears in *stuff* this week, please feel free to share something nifty with me below. It's kind of like a potluck dinner... add what you like and think others would enjoy, too! From projects to thrifty finds to recipes to tutorials to favorite posts or blogs - just post them below! A link back to this post would be greatly appreciated!

Have a beautiful day!

  2. I was thinking the same.exact.thing today as I'm going thru my garage ('cause hubs thinks garages are for cars????)

I have so many cute things I'd love to hang on to, but the cash is worth more to me right now. And the space too :)

I linked up a cute little desk I redid and had the happy coincidence to find some fabric in my stash that's a perfect match. Nifty!

  4. I am suppose to be cleaning out my closet full of stuff but here I sit surfing blogs. I just got a Circut from cricutmachine.com The site had a good sale a couple of weeks ago. A new Cricut is coming out in October with more bells and whistles and a price tag to go with it. I cut the Cricut Expression and then I downloaded Make the Cut so I could use the machine with my computer which is so much easier and you don't have to buy a ton of cartridges. You need a USB cord to connect them. Hope this helps.

  5. I just cleared a few items out of my closet for a local consignment sale - I think I bought more than I sold.

Please post what you learn about the Circut. I would love to buy one for my daughter for Christmas - of course I would use it too!

  7. I don't have a Cricut but I do have a Silhouette and I love it. The main reason I got the Silhouette is because I didn't want to have to mess with expensive cartridges. I was gld to read Tracy's comment that Cricut's can now be used with the computer.

  11. I have a Cricut and I just LOVE it! I have the Expression which is the big one. I used it to cut the circles out of the Army Invite I entered in the Linky. I gave my mom my circle punch and this thing came in handy! The cartridges are cool too! You get a bunch of different designs in each one. I won a couple of brand new cartridges off ebay for cheaper than retail, so you could check into that too. Although, I wouldn't buy a Cricut from there. I got mine at Walmart, but if only I had waited 6 months. Now they're black and very neat!

  12. Oooo...a blog sale. Sounds like fun. I can't wait to see what you list.

By the way, I have a cricut expression and it is a pretty fun toy. You definitely want to get the program you can use on your computer, so you don't have to spend a ton of money on font cartridges.

  15. Kim,
I work in the scrapbooking industry, and I must say that Cricut machines are absolutely amazing. If you are interested in this, I think that the blog, http://www.cricutholiday.com/, would be a great place for you to start getting inspired to create with your new machine! They have great project ideas and tips.
