Blankety Plank Plank Plank
Seventy-seven ceiling planks primed!
Only 109 more to go...
Our plan was to prime *all* the planks yesterday, but we had to mow the lawn which took a chunk of time out of our schedule. *sigh* (Plus hubs and I decided to go and have a finger lickin' good lunch at Famous Daves Barbeque...Hot wings and rib tips to die for!)
We've decided to go ahead and put one coat of paint on all the planks after priming them. We tested a couple of primed and painted pieces yesterday and they fit together just fine without any force. So we're good to go.:)

Wow Kim that sounds like a real job! Whew! Keep on truckin'. *hugs*
how many left? That sounds like an awful lot. We (I should say my husband) put up about 10 to repair a wall in our bedroom - now I'm wondering if we should have primed/painted them first. Ah well, live and learn!
btw, thanks for the color swatch thing - that was very cool of you :)
Thanks you all:)
They are *all* primed...now we just have to paint!
Oh my gosh! I found houseblogs.net today from an article in the paper. Last year I bought a Folk Victorian built in 1890. It took a lot of persuading to convince my husabnd that he would grow to love the house. At first he hated the plank walls and ceiling. Right now, he still has 'issues' with the Money Pit, but everyone who has come by has commented on how cozy it is...despite the horros the previous owners committed against it.
But, as you probably know, things like roof repairs and replacing wood rot in the floors comes way ahead of things like bad paint jobs.
Anyway, when I saw that you had plank walls and ceilings, I just had to drop you a note.
Hi Kim! Hope I "made" it here! ;-)
I love, love your blog and your home. I think your new ceiling is going to look beautiful! Can't wait to see the results. Everything that you have done so far in your cottage home is wonderful.
