Another Red Kitchen to Share! + The Last Day to Vote!
There is nothing that excites me more than to your home related projects, especially if they were inspired by something you may have seen here at Twice Remembered. And extra especially {hehe} if you were daring enough to paint your cabinets RED! It's one thing to be inspired, and it's quite another to dive right in and make your inspiration a reality! So kudos to all you who take on projects, large and small, with patience and gusto!
Today I'd like to share the new, the Lee's kitchen over at 1 Frugal Queen. She started out with a nice - but very white - kitchen.
She added beadboard to the sides which gave her cabinets a custom look...
And she added also added crown moulding at the top and trim moulding at the bottom of the cabinets, which simply transformed the basic cabinets she had to begin with!
She painted her cabinets a beautiful red on the outside, white on the inside, but the shelving remained red for color and interest - perfect!It's extra work to paint the inside of the cabinets, but I think it's well worth it!
One of my favorite things to add to plain surfaces are wooden appliques. Lee used a couple right here in the sink area on the false drawer fronts. It's a perfect place for them!
With a little trim and some beautiful red paint, Lee has created a warm, cozy, and inviting kithen. I LOVE it! Maybe she'll pop in here and tell us how she's loving her new red cabinets so far!
To see more of Lee's kitchen transformation, please visit her at 1 Frugal Queen to see all her 8 of her blog segments about her kitchen. {Look in the left hand bar under the section "Kitchen Makeover Chronicles" for all the links to her kitchen makeover.
If you've ever been inspired by a project here at Twice Remembered, please don't hesitate to share it with me because I'd love to share it with us others! {By the way, a few people have had problems with me email link. How is it working for you?}
{This is it! Today is the LAST day to vote on my projects in the final round of the contest I entered at Repair-Home.com! More information below and a HUGE thank you to all those that have voted so far!!}
Twice Remembered is a Finalist - Still Time to Vote! (Repost)
I am over the moon thrilled to share with my blog readers some very exciting news! All of your votes for our projects that we entered into the first round of the Repair-Home contest really paid off! I entered projects in 11 different catagories, and in 10 of those categories, our projects were voted #1! YOU through your votes made that happen and hubs and I can't thank you enough! I have a feeling that 2010 is going to be a great year for Twice Remembered due to this contest because we are finally going to get to complete projects that we've been putting off for a long time!
I have a feeling that 2010 is going to be a great year for Twice Remembered!Not only did your votes help us to place at the top in individual categories, but it put two of our projects into the final round of the contest. {There are only five finalists' projects total.} This final round ends on December 15th. The winning project receives a prize of $1000 {not too shabby, eh?!}.
So once again, I'm asking for your help and vote. {I appreciate your patience with me and my "like-a-child-at-Disneyworld" exuberance, hehe, but I've never done anything like this before and am thrilled that we've reached this final stage.}
The two Twice Remembered projects that made the final round are our Cottage Kitchen Ceiling project and our Kitchen Windows and French Doors project. You can click either photo below to be taken to the main voting page to cast your vote and to see more of the project photos if you haven't seen them already.

I stopped for a demi second: Hey, that's not Kim's kitchen!
But it's non the less beautiful!
Stupid apartment not allowing me to paint mine red!
I'm heading at her blog to give her some love. :D
Hmm, I like it, but I don't like it that much (sorry Ms.Lee! no offense). Maybe some changes to furnitures/lightening or some other elements of the kitchen will make it truly shine!
Or maybe.. it's because I like your (Kim's) kitchen too much, that others look not as good.
I think she did a great job with her kitchen!! It's amazing what paint can do to change the whole look! I painted my cabinet under my kitchen sink and it was inspired by your kitchen. I have painted them green, black, white, cottage white and even pink at one point, I'm probably forgetting a color or two, LOL (;

Oh, you know I love red! So this is right up my alley. I shall go visit her.

Her kitchen looks awesome and the red makes that kitchen so much more fun to look at. Beautiful!
Hi Kim,
Thanks so much. The past 1 & 1/2 years have been fun, busy and very stressful- but we are almost finished and it was so worth it. So glad I was able to find out about your blog through the contest- you are very talented and your home is gorgeous. I look forward to checking in and seeing what other new projects you and your hubby complete.
The red cabinets are awesome by the way- never even considered painting ours anything other that cream and wish I had!
Thanks,
Lorraine

Glad I found you through who knows. I get lost in these blogs sometimes.
Wow I never thought about painting cabinets red. These look great! Not sure how I will get my hubby to agree he doesn't have my same love of red but I will try and wear him down ;)
