Make Your Monday Highlights and Paint Color Opinions Needed

ou all were busy lately! I hope you enjoyed browsing this week's Make Your Monday projects - I know I did! If you haven't yet gotten a chance to visit all the participating blogs for Week 4 of Make Your Monday, you can see them here.

I'm going to do this weeks highlights just a little different. Instead of showing you all the beautiful AFTER photos, I'm going to show you the BEFORE . {Yeah, that's me shaking things up and turning the world on it's end!} To see all the AFTER photos, you can just click on the participating bloggers' links.

So in no particular order, here are some BEFORE shots....

Kate of The Gaines Gang completely changed this bedside table for her daughter's bedroom. She knew good lines when she saw them!

Check out what Jenny of The Kerr Family Blog did with this pretty pillow sham...

Maman Tattoo gave her little girl's furniture a sweet and sunny facelift...

Melanie of The Old White Cottage found a very stylish replacement for baby gates...

Lila at 2 Brown Eyed Beauties gave her daughter's bathroom a very nice, girly makeover...

{I must say at this point that I had no idea that 5 of the 6 highlights I chose were children related...I didn't notice until I started adding the photo descriptions. It's nice to see so many this week!}

Lastly, and certainly not leastly, we have a beautiful table made from an old window. You can see how it all came together and how you can build your own on Unskinny Boppy.

I huge thank you to all that stopped by to both participate and/or visit and comment on all 35 Make Your Monday projects this week. Let's do it again next week, shall we? I've been getting the party started on Sunday evenings at 7 pm Pacific time, so feel free to start adding your links then.

One last thing before I sign off... In one of my recent entries about the new studio door from the kitchen we added last weekend, I asked for opinions about whether or not to paint that door white to match the trim, ceiling, etc., or if I should paint the door red - the same color as my cabinets. And the two other doors in the kitchen/dining area, the french doors that lead to the backyard and the exterior door in the adjoining dining area - should those doors be left white or also painted red? Again, the trim will be white, but it's just the color of the doors that I'm in the air about. Let me know what you think here or in that post if you haven't already. Thank you!

It was certainly an inspirational "Make Your Monday." All of the highlighted projects were certainly well deserved.

As for your kitchen doors, it's my personal preference to see the doors and trim inside a home painted the same. It gives a more cohesive uniform look for me. That's just a personal preference, so of course, I'm voting all white just like all your other trim.

I usually like all trim painted the same, but I recently painted the back of our front door. We have a 2 story entry and it is very white and needed something. The cheapest thing I could think of was leftover paint and it made a big difference. Now I am thinking on carrying that color to the hand rails and steps on our stairs. Whatever you decide is sure to look fabulous though!
Smiles!

I'd paint both the trim and doors white, I like how you painted your cabinets in red, very unique!

Hey there~

All of it is beautiful! I would go for the white... I wouldn't want the color of the door to compete with all your beautiful trim you just did... let the trim be the showcase for sure. Great job!!

Fun Monday projects! Kim, I would paint all the trim and doors in your lovely home white. This would be your neutral backdrop, and then you can add your reds in accessories and furnishings for that "pop." And of course, you already have your gorgeous kitchen cabinets!

I think white for the door & trim but I really like the naturaly looking wood that it is already, have you given it thought to just seal it with a nice semi-gloss? I know your doors to your deck are white so maybe just do the trim in the wood...I have always been a fan of the natural wood tone up agains the red :)
