Days 17: Kitchen Cabinet Makeover Challenge
Today I got the very last coat of red paint on four cabinet doors. If I had the hinges sprayed with my anodized bronze paint, we could hang them! Oh well...the paint should cure for a couple of days anyway.
I also got the off-white basecoat on all the doors (one side of them anyway) and the drawers. If I'm ambitious enough, I might put another coat on those drawers before I go to bed tonight, but we'll see about that. I have a bit of an upset tummy at the moment so lying down and reading a book right about now seems much more enticing:)
I didn't get to post the before and after priming photos from the other day so I'll post them now. Tomorrow I'll take some photos of how the doors and drawers look at the moment...
A LOT of scrubbing and sanding went into these drawers and doors. The prepping is almost the hardest part - almost. (click to enlarge)
So much better already with two coats of primer!
On to priming the doors...

Wow, I'm just so impressed with all your hard work! I hate painting as it is, but you've taken it a step way beyond simple painting! I love how they are turning out!
Aww, how sweet is that card from your mom? When you received it, you probably never thought how quickly you would have little girls of your own making you proud! Lindsay is adorable! Congrats to her! What a sweetie pie! We had Hadleigh's preschool graduation/promotion last night. It was so cute. She is going into 4 year old preschool next year, so it was just a promotion for her, but the songs were so sweet!
Your cabinets are looking amazing! I love the colors you've picked. I'm so glad that I found your blog again. I put in my favorites, so we can keep in touch. I enjoy your writing and seeing your pictures! Your home is very cozy and inviting! :)
Linsay is just too cute! Everything just comes full circle, doesn't it.
Thanks so much, Tammy, Steph, and Gerrie:) Tammy, I will probably never want to paint another thing when this project is complete, but I know that I will, lol!
Steph, congrats on Hadleigh's graduation:) I'm sure it will be a milestone you'll remember forever...and hopefully she will, too!
Gerrie - you're right...everything does come full circle:) There's just no stopping time and the natural progression of things, which is both sweet and sad all at the same time!
Johnson graduated too! I'm so jealous though because I didnt get pictures nearly as good as yours. You must have some kinda zoom on your camera! It was so dark in there that I could only take pictures up close and none of them turned out quite right. Still a great moment though.
