Cabinet Crown Moulding Question - Corner Cabinet Angles
It took us a while to figure it out - those darned angled cuts - but we managed to get the crown moulding up on our first set of cabinets. *Note to self: Next time, buy more practice trim.* We have an L-shaped kitchen, though, and the next set of cabinets will prove to be more difficult. We'll have to figure out how to cut the pieces for the corner cabinet. Joy. Anyone have any tips before we blow our entire kitchen remodel budget on trim? Thanks! Here is the layout:

If you don't already have one, get a Sliding T-bevel and a compass. you can use these to calculate the correct angle for your miter cut.

My husband is in the middle of this same project. My two cents? Measure three or four times, eyeball it until you're comfortable to make the cut, cut once!! We bought some lengths of crown moulding at Mr. Seconds (a.k.a., Bargain Outlets) for about $4. A wonderfully inexpensive way to practice! Great luck to you!
Assuming everything is square. The angles should be 22.5 degrees. Half of the 45 degrees the cabinet is set at.

Thanks for the link, John! We'll looking into that and hopefully it will help...crown moulding can be tricky! Maria, good idea about buying inexpensive moulding. We had a couple of practice mdf pieces that worked great (while it lasted!). Greg, that angle worked fine when we were doing the bottom trim. I know with the top crown moulding that went on the 90 degree corners, we had to set the bevel to 38.85 and the miter to 31.62. I guess we just assumed that the corner cabinet would have a more complex miter. We'll see!
Bev, it's looking good so far - we'll be *so* glad when the trimwork is complete. Our brains hurt trying to figure it all out, lol!
